Folkestone Welcome To Folkestone Museum
Having been successful in its bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a £1.95 million grant to regenerate the Town Hall, Folkestone Town Council has now completed the construction and fit out phases of the project known as Folkestone's HEART (Heritage, Education, Art, Regeneration, Tourism).
The project led by the Town Clerk, Jennifer Childs supported by the Council's Heritage Officers, said: 'We want the Town Hall to be a vibrant community space that will inspire, educate and engage locals as well as visitors to the town. The central location of the town hall makes it the perfect venue and our HEART project is an excellent example of what can be achieved through sheer hard work and dedication by everyone involved, without the shared pride and accountability we simply could not have been so triumphantly, successful. I trust our new museum will be a much loved truly amazing asset for Folkestone.'
