In response to her current exhibition at the Folkestone Museum, For the Love of Nature, Deborah Crofts will host two workshops in connection with the themes and materials of her displayed artworks. Deborah invites participants to join her in a journey of discovery and exploration with the art mediums of watercolours and inks. You’ll also have the opportunity to paint on handmade paper that Deborah has created herself.

Over the last two years, Deborah has developed a fascination with the unpredictable nature of these materials. She has developed different methods for working with their inherent qualities. In doing so, she has discovered a variety of ways of having a ‘discussion’ with these wonderful mediums. In addition to this, last year she started exploring the use of handmade paper. As a result of this new aspect of her arts practice, Deborah discovered an enjoyment for the unique nature of every single individual sheet of paper – which is reflected in For the Love of Nature.

No previous painting experience is required! Deborah will guide each participant through a number of ways of working creatively and expressively. Please note this workshop is for adults only.

There will be two workshops – one from 10:30 to 12:30, and another from 1:30 to 3:30pm. All tools and materials will be provided, but you may wish to bring an apron. Tickets are £20 – please book yours using the links below!
