Our friend Catherine Farr returns for the summer holidays with her own crafty take on the Roman world. Today Catherine is exploring something that turns up occasionally in these parts – Roman coins; this is THE craft workshop where you’ll end up knowing your denarius from your sesterce!
This is a drop-in event, no booking is required and is suitable for children aged 4 to 11 but all ages are welcome. Please note there will be short pause for lunch.
We hope to be back in our learning space on the lower ground floor, alongside our archaeology gallery, where you can see real Roman coins, as long as our ventilation issues are solved. If not the event will be held in the Town Hall & Museum foyer (unfortunately there will be no access to toilets or baby change facilities if this is the case), please keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram socials for updates – we can’t wait to fully open the museum!
