Join us at Folkestone Museum for a Sip and Bead night on August 4th 2026.
Make your own beads from polymer clay (and enjoy a glass of wine or two) with conservator Dana-Goodburn Brown. This relaxed, beginner-friendly creative evening will include step-by-step instructions to make your own set of beads to take home.
The Anglo-Saxons loved beads. Women wore them in long strings, and men would wear one or two, perhaps as a necklace, or as toggles on the end of a belt. Beads were made of lots of different materials: glass, rock crystal, amber and clay.
You’ll get a chance to get up close to beads from our new exhibition, Raising the Dead, and from the rest of our collection.
‘Sip and Bead’ tickets are £15 each. Your ticket includes all materials and your first drink. Drinks can be purchased throughout the session.
