We’re kicking off our summer holiday with Prehistory Week!
On the 23rd of July, we’re making Stone Age necklaces. Learn more about how people in the Stone Age and Bronze Age made jewellery and make your own necklace!
On the 24th and 25th of July, we’re making Venus figurines. Venus figurines are statues of women in the Upper Paleolithic. Nobody knows what people used these statuettes for. They could be part of an ancient religion, an expression of good health and fertility, or female artists making figures of themselves.
Our Prehistory Week family sessions are designed for young people under 13. We’ll run four activity sessions a day at 10:30, 11:30, 13:30 and 14:30. When you arrive at the museum before your chosen session, please pick up your FREE timed ticket at the main reception desk! Tickets are first come, first served on the day – we don’t allow booking in advance.
