Week 5 of our family summer holiday activities is Medieval Week.

On the 19th and 20th of August, we’re making paper plate dragons. Dragons were important symbols and legends in Medieval England – they were regularly part of stories about saints (including Saint George) and part of royal heraldry.

On the 21st and 22nd of August, join us to make a model of a medieval castle. There used to be two castles in Folkestone – on the Bayle and up on Castle Hill. Learn all about them and make a castle to take home!

Our Medieval Week family activities are designed for children and young people under 13. We’ll run four activity sessions a day at 10:30, 11:30, 13:30 and 14:30. When you arrive at the museum before your chosen session, please pick up your FREE timed ticket at the main reception desk! Tickets are first come, first served on the day – we don’t allow booking in advance.
